I used to think when I first started in network marketing that I was definitely self employed. But truthfully, you are self employed no matter what you do. You are self employed always unless you have a contract stating that you can't leave your job like in the military, professional sports, etc... Without a legal binding agreement holding you to your job or company for a period of time - you are not obligated to stay there. You can walk away at any time, even if you have a contract. But keep in mind if you have a contract, you may pay stiff penalties or have consequences for your actions. But technically unless someone has put a gun to your head and is threatening to pull the trigger, you're always self employed regardless of who signs your paycheck.
Why network marketing could be a great option for many is that with network marketing you get to make your own hours, low start-up costs, and great tax benefits. Monthly overhead ranges from as low as $50 per month. Don't know of too many businesses that you can start in for as little as $50 per month. Also, allows you time freedom to pursue other things or spend more time with the people you love.
Unfortunately, if you're a W-2 employee you pay by far the most income tax of anyone in the US and get no tax breaks, so this is probably one of the worst ways to employ yourself. Most don't have the drive or ambition to succeed outside of the workplace, so for many this is the best option, but you are always vulnerable to lay-off's, downsizing, or other unforeseen events. This is why even if you're employed, you may want to consider in your spare time creating a Plan B. A Plan B would always be there to fall back on in the event you were to ever lose your job, plus Plan B forces you to have to be innovative and competitive, so these new entrepreneurial skills can help you perform at a much higher level at your JOB.

Can you Successfully Build More Than 1 Network Marketing Company....
The truth is that MLM also known as network marketing and MLM is a vehicle to create passive residual income. But a big debate has always been can you successfully build more than one? And if so, why would you want to.
Many experts say to only do 1 MLM and not many as you will become distracted and won't be successful. And I agree with that philosophy. You wouldn't buy a McDonald's Franchise than go and buy a Subway Franchise and try to build them together at the same time. But after you get the McDonald's Store in profit and have a good management team - your time at that one location becomes less valuable. Its the same in network marketing, but must be careful in promoting products or services that compete with each other as this could make it difficult for you to legally keep your current distributorship.
We all have been made aware of the subject of Multiple Streams of Income and I think many in The Network Marketing Industry confuse this with Multiple Network Marketing Companies. Yes you can build more than one company, but you better build 1 first, before you start to build another.

Why I am Quitting Visalus
Not really, but now that I've got your attention, let me tell you even with all the hype out there on the internet today only a small percentage of people make money in network marketing. The reason being is simple if you don't have a powerful marketing system and a way to generate leads after you go through your warm market, you might be screwed.
The Good news is it doesn't have to be this way, and Visalus has created a powerful marketing system for you to share with people you know. The problem with their marketing systems is it's DEAD too unless you have an audience to put your marketing message in front of. I personally know how to generate 20 to 25 leads per day effortlessly via Facebook, Twitter, and online classified ads. This doesn't cost me a penny and I can show anyone on my team how to do it.
So the choice is yours as how your going to do Visalus, but unfortunately joining with a so called Guru is the kiss of death as they won't have time to take your calls and train you properly on how to really make money in network marketing. And if they only know offline methods, I hope you're a very influential person and have a very ripe warm market.
To learn more visit http://www.thehomebiz4you.com and contact me directly for a confidential interview.
If you have no interest in Visalus, but are struggling in network marketing, make sure to sign up for my Free 30 Day MLM Bootcamp where I teach you Hybrid Network Marketing (offline & online methods).

The Optimist Creed
The Optimist Creed
Promise Yourself ...
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Are you Struggling? STOP IT!
Watching my son snowboard for the first time yesterday and cruising down Intermediate runs effortlessly by the end of the day gave me a HUGE EPIPHANY. We all have talents that come naturally to us and if we pay close attention to the things we do well without much effort, than simply get better at those things, than we can capitalize off our natural abilities vs. trying to pursue or do things that we really have no talent for, which will usually only lead us to frustration and loss. My wish for you in 2012 is that you find your Talent & Purpose in A BIG WAY!

Nerium - THE SHOCKING TRUTH - My Nerium Review
Nerium is a new direct to consumer company to hit the world of network marketing. Their flagship product is a skin cream applied to your face before you go to bed that is derived from The Nerium Plant and supposed to get rid of wrinkles, scarring, skin damage, etc. I was impressed enough by this company's story along with their before and after pictures that I thought I would do some due diligence regarding the company and their products. Not to mention their company owner Jeff Olsen is an icon in The world of Direct Selling and is a much sought after trainer and consultant within the industry. He has also probably written the most important book ever seen by our industry "The Slight Edge". I even took the plunge and spoke with Jeff personally and got some product to try out, while doing my due diligence. Unfortunately, I did not see the results after 30 days, that I thought or hoped that I might in a skin care product. I think I was happier with the results I had seen from other products, but the convenience of this product was superb, although getting past the smell did take a few applications. On a brighter note, I was very pleased with their packaging and branding (looks awesome!). Jeff obviously knows how to build and even in a bad economy people still need and want to look good.
The Nerium compensation plan looks to be a 3 X 3 uni-level type plan, very similar to one of my favorite plans in the industry - Visalus. The only real difference I could find between Nerium and Visalus' comp plan was that Nerium pays out a few levels deeper when you hit the top of the pay plan and offers a Lexus car program instead of The BMW Program offered by Visalus (except Visalus allows you to opt for the $300 Cash bonus vs. car & Nerium does not). What does this mean for someone joining Nerium? It simply means that if you invest in the $500 Biz Builder Package you will qualify for all commissions, and The Lexus Car Program - if you don't you will be leaving lots of money on the table, but still be rewarded for your efforts. With their compensation plan you will also be rewarded for obtaining customers - now isn't that a great idea. The comp plan is not too bottom or top heavy, so a new person could come in and start making money within their first few days in the business.
I like the look and feel of Nerium and think as they begin to grow their business to include more than their night skin cream - by adding cleansers, astringents, eye cream, etc, that they will continue to see growth from loyal customers and distributors.
The downside I see to Nerium is they have a ton of competition in skin care as skin care is a multi-billion dollar industry and many MLM Companies that have been around for awhile are already secure in that space (Nuskin, Arbonne, and Mary Kay). But Mr. Olsen also heads the research and management side of the business Nerium Biotechnology, Inc. Mr. Olsen has wisely surrounded himself with his close family and a team of corporate members that are well equipped, well known, knowledgeable, and poised for growth.. With that being said Nerium is a start up and the reality is that there is a huge risk/reward situation with any start up. A start up can be lucrative IF you get on a solid team early but there is no guarantee the company will be around in 5 years.
If you are a risk taker and like start-ups go for it. Keep in mind that your results will depend upon your ability to market, attract customers, and distributors to your business. If you feel that you lack the experience necessary to succeed in a brand new company or that maybe you don't have the risk factor for a start up than take a look at my company which has seen double digit growth over the past 20 months, 7 years old, and is completely debt free. http://www.thehomebiz4you.com
